Paoay Church and Bell Tower (Paoay, Ilocos Norte)

Another Ilocos Travel blog post. Yahoo! I am so sipag. *pats myself in the back*

Paoay Church is one of the tourist spots we visited on our last day in Ilocos. It’s something we didn’t dare miss. I think this church is one of the most visited places in Ilocos and I could totally understand why. Look at how picture perfect the church is! Walang anggulo na hindi maganda.

Paoay Church is one of the oldest church in Ilocos completed around 1710. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and I am glad that the people of Paoay was able to preserve the beauty of the church. You’ll feel like you’re being transported back to the spanish era.

Inside you’ll see a very beautiful altar. And this platform where the Prayle’s in the Spanish era gives sermon is also there. They were able to preserve it.

Of course, since it’s my first time on that church, I hold on to the church door and made a wish. I feel real great going to the different churches here in the Philippines. At one point or another, these churches give me a glimpse of the heritage and culture of the province I visit.

Paoay Church has these huge buttresses on the sides and back of the building. According to Wikipedia, the church is a prime example of Earthquake Baroque architecture which is a Philippine interpretation of European Baroque. The huge buttresses are made to prevent  Coolio! Kala ko design lang. May purpose pala!

Every old church has a bell tower separated from the church itself. We we’re not able to climb the bell tower though but it sure looks so pretty!

The church is soooo beautiful! I feel like I’m in Europe!! It’s really very pretty.

And of course, mawawala ba ang jump shot sa ganito kagandang background???

Paolo really mastered the art of jumpshots! Kainggit!

I look like I’m riding an invisible horse! Nyahahaha!

And of course, my pa-simple outfit shots. Sorry huh. Last year kasi mahiyain pa ko mag look shots. Promise! I’d be more daring in CDO! Outfit shot kung outfit shot talaga!!
