Back to School Preparations

It's back to school season mga mumsh! Alam ko for others old news na ito because your bagets are back to school na since last month but the #FabSkye's school won't start until the end of July so prepping only starts now for me.

We just arrived from our SG-MY trip last week so mej cramming ang lola mo now. She's already enrolled and tuition is fully paid but we need to get her new uniforms and school stuff. Her school just emailed the list of school supplies that we need to bring and medyo mahaba sya. Hahahaha!

For this blog post, I'll share with you my back to school preparations and some tips. I had everything figured out so kahit medyo cramming keribels lang.

1. Find a school for your child as early as possible. I've been checking out schools since 2 years old ang bagets. I would call the schools, try to read reviews. Ask around. I would even visit. I had the #FabSkye attend trial classes and a 1 month summer academic class on her current school. Because I wanna make sure that she's happy and at ease sa school nya. It is very important for me na happy sya and she likes her school para sipagin pumasok.

2. Adjust her sleep time. As early as last month, we've already adjusted the #FabSkye's sleep time. We enrolled her on an earlier class (so I could still bring her to school and fetch her). Pero prinsesa ang lola mo at gumigising ng alas onse dati so now, she's sanay na to wake up at 7. We'll adjust it some more kasi 7:45 talaga pasok nya. But then super lapit lang ng school nya sa bahay so siguro mga 6:50 pwede na so she could still eat her breakfast and we won't be gahol sa oras.

3. Wait for your school's list before buying school stuff. This way, you'd really know what you need and you won't over shop. Minsan aminin nyo we have the tendency to buy cutie stuff tapos di naman pala need. Now that we have the actual list, we know na what to buy.

4. Continue homeschooling. The #FabSkye has been home schooled since 1 year old. We allot 30 minutes per day for her proper home schooling activities like worksheets and everything. Kahit during her trial class and summer class, we still continue that and even up to now. Yun nga lang now, I had my cousin tutor her kasi medyo madami na ako ginagawa talaga and our homeschooling eh late na pag ako pa gumawa. Need nya mag sleep early so kelangan maaga palang nakakapag aral na sya. I still find all the worksheets and print them. I still tell my cousin ano ang dapat pag aralan for the day, etc. Siya lang talaga nagtuturo. This way, nabi-build namin ang study habits nya.

5. Improve her immune system. We all know that it is inevitable to catch viruses at school since she interacts with other kids and their classrooms are air-conditioned. May mga nanay kasi talaga na pinapapasok ang mga anak kahit may sakit eh. So it is very important for me to build her immune system. Para naman di lagi nahahawa sa sakit ang bagets diba? We always give Zinc sa #FabSkye to build her immune system and give her vitamins like Nutri10 Plus para aktibo at malakas sya all the time.

6. Know when to buy cheap and when to invest on more expensive school materials. For notebooks and papers, I think it's okay to buy cheap. Pare-pareho lang naman na susulatan. I usually buy them sa Divisoria or Paco. But pencils, sharpeners and crayons, I really try to buy the sturdy ones. I tried buying cheap pencils sa divi, jusko! Putol putol ang loob so naubos na kakatasa. Sayang lang. For crayons, I am very specific with this one because some cheap ones are toxic which is major no-no for me. Better to buy on reputable brands. Her socks are semi-cheap (not yung super cheap na manipis na ah) because this things kasi must be replaced regularly. Even though black socks sa school ng #FabSkye, malamang magkanda puti yun sa kapal ng dumi. Basta bottomline, value for money padin talaga.

7. Prepare yourself, mother. Yes! Etc. Etc.

8. Save up. Sending our kids to school means burning out your moolah. I've been saving up for the #FabSkye's school expenses since forever so we we're able to fully pay her tuition na. We also enrolled her early kasi ang laki ng discount for early birds on her school. Sayang naman! We won't be able to do that if we didn't save up early. Now may mga need padin bilhin but we are covered because nga nakapag ipon naman tayo kahit konti for her school needs.

I am super excited na sa pasukan bcause finally, she's in big school already. Ang tagal tagal ko talaga naghanap ng perfect school for her eh. Mas perfect sana tong school na to kung di sya mahalia fuentes but keriboom boom. Ganun talaga.

Kayo mga mumsh? How did you prepare?
