Last weekend, I was given the opportunity to watch Kinky Boots, by Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group and directed by Bobby Garcia. This is Manila's version of Cyndi Lauper's Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical led by Nyoy Volante as Lola!

To say that I had a blast is an understatement. I love theater. It gives me an extra ounce of happiness and I love that it felt real and surreal, if you know what I mean.

Kinky Boots is based on the book by Harvey Fierstein, while Cyndi Lauper gave it music and lyrics and turned it into a wonderful stage show!

The show is all about Charlie who inherited her father's almost bankrupt shoe factory. He wants to save the factory and seek the help of Lola, a drag queen, to create kinky boots. A pretty line of sturdy stilettos for drag queens like Lola.

It's hilarious! It's a SHOW! I love each and every performance of Lola and the Angels. I love all the heartfelt performance Charlie. I was super kilig with Lauren's performance when she realized that she had fallen for Charlie. I love everything!!!

It's a show like you've never seen before. When I went there, I was only looking forward to watch Nyoy Volante in drag. I thought it's gonna be a drag show! If you know what I mean. But this is a drag show and MORE.

I guess more than the hilarious antics and colorful performances, I love the story. I love the lesson of the show. It's all about inclusiveness, all about acceptance, all about friendship, all about respect and all about love.

In this crazy world where everyone wants to be heard, this show reminds us that we should listen.

I cried. I laughed. I was mesmerized. I was entertained. I went home with a full and happy heart. How I wish I could re-watch this show with my daughter in the future.

Lea Salonga kept on raving about it. And I truly understand why! So it's a show you should never dare miss!!! You still have until the 23rd to watch it at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati. Check out Ticket World to buy your tickets!

I swear mga besh, di kayo magsisisi.
