Been hearing loads of good reviews about this film so I decided to catch it with a friend. And boy, I am so glad I did!

It’s a story about a con artist and stage magician named Oz who got lost in the wonderful world of Oz. It was Theodora (played by Mila Kunis) who first saw him and told him of the prophecy that he’ll be the one who’ll restore the kingdom’s peace and kill the wicked witch Glinda (played by Michelle Willimas). Theodora fell in love with him and Oz being the great womanizer that he is made her believe that the feeling is mutual until Evanora (played by Rachel Weisz) made Oz kill Glinda - who turned out to be the good witch, and poison Theodora’s mind and turned her into a bad witch. Bottomline, it was Evanora who’s bad. Won’t bother to tell you the details of course, you’d easily get that on Wikipedia.

Let’s now go on what I thought about the film, shall we?

And so I keep on telling my date how great it’ll look on 3D. Too bad its not available in 3D anymore when I watch it. Tsk! The graphics are awesome and is wonderfully created. The China Doll and the flying monkey looks so real. The facial expressions and everything. The way that the Land of Oz was created is just perfect. Promise, it’ll be a sight to behold on 3D. And the kids would surely love it.

Its an all star cast and kudos to Disney for pulling out a great casting. James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams??! How can that not be perfect? Each actor has portrayed their role excellently. And can I just mention how gorgeous Rachel Weisz is? I can’t believe she’s an effective villain. With that angelic face of hers.

But what I love most about the film is the story and how it was executed. Its so funny! You see, everyone in Oz thought Oz is a wizard with great magical powers which he is so not! The only one who knew it (as Oz told him himself) is Finley, the winged monkey. So what Oz did was act like a wizard and did all this weird things which luckily made him look like he’s got some magical powers. Its very funny!! And that “final act” and “greatest performance of my life” scenes are super hilarious. He uses smoke machines and image projector (which is like “magic” to the land of Oz) and then uses fireworks and everything to scare the wicked witch. Super funny. You just have to watch it yourself!!

Yey for another great film from Disney. This is one of those film that is so worth your time. And if I ever have kids, I’d make sure they watch it. It’s an eye candy and very funny film but most of all, it teaches values and morals and all those things that we must teach our kids.

xoxo,

Reigne
